all we need is a home!

yesterday was one of my best shopping days ever! i am a true lover of shoes, clothes, and makeup, and anyone who knows me will think it is funny that items for the home are making me giddy. i was surprised to feel utter joy with our purchases yesterday. OMG, i'm domesticated!

thanks to bloomie's incredible 15% registry completion incentive and an additional 15% discount for opening a new account, we purchased ALL of our fine china and flatware, a nambe chip and dip, two nambe butterfly bowls, and a 45 piece daily dinnerware set!! woooooo hoooooo! our generous gifts at michael c fina will also complete my crystal! OMG, i am soooo excited. all that we need now is a home! we currently live in a SMALL one bedroom apartment so i can't enjoy my purchases just yet...sigh! here are some pics...come on, drool with me! raynaud's jardin celeste china, nambe's glacier stainless flatware (we'll never be able to afford real silver), and vera wang's duchesse goblets, flutes, and wine glasses. i think i'm in LOVE!

cute dog story

i had a pretty long day yesterday and was on my feet for most of it. when i got home, my dear wonderful husband offered to massage my feet. you know the kind of massage that hurts but feels fab? well, that's what was going on with his hands and my feet! i was kind of saying, "ow, ow, ow" every now and then...the next thing we know, our little doggie jumps on the couch and shields my feet with his body! he sat right on my feet and covered them and looked straight at hubby's face, almost daring him to touch my feet! how absolutely adorable is that???

Interview Shoes

our lives are about to take a major turn, and there will be a big move coming in less than a year. hence, i have been going on a string of interviews.

before heading off, i knew that i NEEDED new, comfy, practical shoes...well, i don't know about "need-need", but im not one to pass up any excuse to grab a new pair (or two, or three...).

my purchases included:

shoe #1 - donald pliner tiff in brown antique gator

not only do these have the perfect 2 inch "easy to walk around in" heel, they also have the requisite peep-toe for the fall. they are so pretty in real life!

shoe #2 - the colehaan nike air carma mid air pump in black calf
i am particularly in love with colehaan nike air shoes, and these are no exception! 3 inch heels with padded soles...what a dream! i know this pair will get alot of use even when interviews are done.

sigh...sign me up for the next interview please!

mascara smears

im a self-confessed make up addict. keep me far away from sephora, nieman marcus' "spend $150 and get samples of...", and bloomingdales.

my new "toy" is the kevin aucoin curling mascara. i've tried a ton of high-end brand name and drug store products (maybelline, lancome, shiseido, etc.), and no matter what, my eyes are a smeary mess in just a few hours. after reading raves, i decided to try this out. the website claims:

"The Curling is designed with a conventional brush, and a protein-based formula that separates and defines each lash beautifully. As it dries, the mascara shrink-wraps on the lashes to draw them into a long, dramatic curl. When used with the lash curler, it plays the role of a “setting spray”, promoting even more curl as apposed to weighing the lashes down."
i just received it in the mail, and being one for instant gratification, i've already put it on...we'll see how it holds up this weekend!

The beginning of the life of the pies...

so i've finally decided to start bloggin. i don't know how i'll find the time to keep it updated, but i want to try anyway.

it took awhile to decide what to name my blog site. on sudden inspiration, i thought of the book "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel. since my husband and i call each other "pie", i realized it was completely appropriate =) yay me for being clever!

so here's to many more blog entries to come! cheers!
